I was born in Pretoria South Africa, but I grew up in Johannesburg when my parents moved when I was about 2 years old. Dad worked for Computer Sciences Corporation, then located in Los Angeles, and he was always talking about America. No wonder I always wanted to come and live here!
But life was not going to be simple. In January 1975 I was drafted to 1SSB, the armored corps of the South African army, posted to officers training, and in November 1975, having just turned 18 that October, airlifted in Angola for a special operation, called Operation Savannah.
I should have been killed, but God had a different plan, which you can read at : Operation Savannah : the 501c3 that my wife and I formed in 2012 to support veterans like myself with C-PTSD.
It seems that civics education has been lost in America. Much of the political strife I see is caused by a fundamental lack of understanding of the constitution. So we formed : Cis4Mission : a non profit to educate the electorate on the constitution.
I will try to write more as time goes on, but for now welcome to this page, and I encourage you to visit the two websites linked here to learn a little more about who we are and what we do.
